Bernunzios makes the Eastman EBJ-WL, which is an exact replica of the early no.2. I've seen some demos, and it seems like a good banjo to buy for that bright, medium-bodied sound. Reasonably priced, too. If I were looking for a close approximation to the 1928 Vega, that might be it.

It's bad news, I tell you. I picked it up in March and I feel like it's all I've ever wanted to do.

i plan on learning the banjo, so I'll be bugging you. I have a terrrrrrible one that is painful to play. I am going to try to take it apart and put it back together better. Will keep you updated.

I want to learn banjo and fiddle and upright bass. but since I picked up the mandolin, it's all I want to play anymore!

My Grafton banjo has been too long in it's case. I lent my Deering to a friend, but she's neglected it. Here's me playing basic in my dirty gardening clothes https://youtu.be/6EM_xsVbF7s and an old recording of our band playing my friend Trent Miller's lovely track from his second album Welcome To Inferno Valley (which you should go out of your way to find!) https://soundcloud.com/jason-collins-9/the-umbrellabirds-nowhere-road
